Equilibrium Module

The Equilibrium Module includes an API to the Electrolyte Simulations powered by OLI Systems, Inc., now integrated seamlessly into the METSIM® user interface. Leverage the powerful calculation capabilities of this great product from within METSIM® simulation models.

Solve complex chemistry-related design and operations challenges with insights from OLI’s first principles-based models, resulting in optimized material selection, improved asset reliability, enhanced process yield, and increased R&D productivity. OLI chemical equilibrium calculations replace the need within METSIM® to enter individual chemical reactions and their respective extents, decreasing model-development time and cost while resulting in trusted results. Processes that can be modeled within METSIM® in both steady-state and dynamic modes with the OLI API include:

  • Lithium and associated salt processing, tank and pond models included
  • Hydroxide and carbonate precipitation plants based on pH adjustments
  • Counter-current decantation (CCD) circuits utilizing METSIM® mechanical and equipment-dependent operating parameters, eg stage-wise mixing efficiency
  • Dynamic heap leaching models, precious and base metals
  • Solvent extraction circuits for base metals
  • and many more. Download a product sheet.

A license from OLI is needed in addition to a METSIM® license to use this module. Contact info@metsim.com to learn more.

The Equilibrium Module also includes APIs to the Geochemist’s Workbench® (GWB) toolset for aqueous chemists. GWB has from its introduction in 1991 set the standard in geochemical modeling. With its crisp user interface, fully integrated graphics, highly optimized algorithms, and advanced software architecture, GWB makes quick work of geochemistry tasks small and large. Ideally suited for water and effluent-treatment facilities often associated with mineral processing plants.

A license from GWB is needed in addition to a METSIM® license to use this module. Contact info@metsim.com to learn more.
